The Walliston Transfer Station new Community Re-Use Shop has a name – and an opening date! The City has been receiving tons of enquiries – and tons of items to go in the shop – in the lead up to the Launch. A naming competition was conducted over December and January and the votes are in.

The City are engaging with the community to inform the design and construction of a Safe Active Street (SAS) routes. Safe Active Streets are local neighbourhood streets, and cycle routes that have a range of traffic calming treatments, such as raised intersection islands, road narrowing, and lots of landscaping.

Stirk Park Turtles Find New Home as Works Begin

Works have now commenced at Stirk Park Lake which has seen the need to drain the lake, and with the care of the locals a top priority the City enlisted the help of Mike and Mandy Bamford of Bamford Consulting Ecologists to relocate a group of Snake Necked Turtles this week.

Lights Camera Action at Maida Vale Reserve

The City is pleased to announce that works have begun on the Maida Vale Reserve sports lighting project. The new sports lighting will provide improved lighting for both Kalamunda United Football Club (KUFC) and Kalamunda Rangers, which host teeball, softball, and baseball.

The City provides a range of quality cycling, mountain biking and walk trails that cater for all levels of experience and which currently remain open to the community. The Kalamunda Trails area is one of the most popular mountain biking destinations in WA, with over 40km of fully signed tracks and located in scenic National Parks and State Forests.

As part of the 2021/2022 financial budget, the City of Kalamunda has begun works to the car park at Ray Owen Reserve, located at Grove and Gladys Roads, Lesmurdie. The car park construction commenced this month with expected completion early March 2022.
