About this Opportunity
This role is the first point of contact for enquiries, providing accurate information and professional customer service to both the public and internal staff. It also supports the Statutory Planning and Compliance teams through a range of administrative
and clerical tasks. Overall, the position helps ensure planning processes run smoothly while complying with council policies, procedures, and legislation.
About You
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain planning processes clearly and professionally to a wide range of people, including those without technical backgrounds
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as handling enquiries, maintaining records, and supporting team workflows while maintaining accuracy
- High attention to detail, particularly when working within strict council policies, procedures, and planning legislation where small errors can have significant consequences
- Good problem-solving skills and sound judgement to assess enquiries and determine whether to respond directly or escalate appropriately
- Confidence using administrative systems, databases, and standard office software to work efficiently
- Proactive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting the planning unit and delivering consistent, high-quality service
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full time role working Monday to Friday, 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off option.
About the Benefits
This position offers an annual salary ranging from $78,184 to $83,302, depending on experience and skill level, plus superannuation.
