Attending the Interview

Bring along any supporting documents, if required.
Arrive 15 minutes early to read through the interview questions and prepare your responses.
The recruitment panel consists of at least two members. Interviews follow a set format to ensure equity and fairness to each applicant.
Interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration depending on the role.

Further Assessment

After the interview, People Services may contact your referees to conduct a Reference Check
For some roles a medical and/or drug & alcohol screen maybe undertaken
For some senior or specialty roles further selection testing may be undertaken such as skills assessment tests, emotional intelligence tests and/or cognitive ability tests.
For some roles a police check and/or Working with Children Check will be required.
All successful candidates will need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of their working rights in Australia.

Outcome

The successful candidate will be verbally offered the position, on acceptance they are given a written Offer of Employment.
Once they accept, the other interviewed candidates will be advised by phone call and all other candidates will be advised by email.

Casual Ranger

We are seeking suitably qualified Casual Rangers to join our Community Hubs & Safety team.

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience as a local government ranger working in the beautiful Perth Hills in a diverse role.

About this Opportunity

As a Casual Ranger, you’ll help keep our community safe, fair, and enjoyable for everyone. You’ll administer and enforce relevant legislation, the City’s Local Laws, and Council Policies acting with professionalism and integrity.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be out and about in the community, providing high-quality customer service through a balanced approach of education and enforcement. Whether it’s supporting fire compliance, assisting with animal control matters, managing parking and litter concerns, or addressing off-road vehicle issues, you’ll play an important part in protecting community safety and amenity.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with people from all walks of life, and making a visible, positive difference every day.

We are looking for Rangers who have:

demonstrated experience in a public-facing or customer service environment.
excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
working knowledge of the Local Government Act, Dog Act, Bush Fires Act, Off-Road Vehicles Act, Litter Act, Cat Act, and relevant Council Local Laws and policies.
experience in animal handling

The following qualifications, training and licences are essential requirements for this position:

Law A and B or ROCS 1 and 2 with Central Regional TAFE is the prerequisite required to apply for this position.
Current National Police Clearance Certificate – no more than three months

Hours of Work

75 hours per fortnight available – weekdays only

About this Opportunity

Builds relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business, uncovers needs, priorities and objectives and leads the delivery of quality analysis to ensure a continuous focus on business outcomes through to delivery. At project initiation assists in estimating costs and timescales, developing business cases and assessing feasibility.

Looks beyond specific projects to provide a wider perspective on change, managing dependencies and providing insightful views of whole programmes.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Partner with Executives and senior leaders to influence strategic decisions
Lead complex business analysis across enterprise-wide initiatives
Develop robust business cases (cost, benefit, risk & impact analysis)
Drive end-to-end requirements definition and prioritisation
Lead organisational acceptance testing frameworks and delivery
Shape enterprise data modelling and information design standards
Build and manage strategic stakeholder relationships across the organisation

Selection Criteria

Well-developed elicitation skills including experience facilitating workshops and focus groups.
Demonstrated experience using Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
Experience planning, identifying, designing, managing, executing and reporting on the outcomes of acceptance tests.
Demonstrated experience of solutions architecture to deliver agreed business outcomes.
Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively completing work in a timely fashion and to an agreed quality standard.
Experience within the Local Government sector.
Experience and understanding of data modelling and design.

Hours of Work

This is a 3 year Fixed-term full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight.

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of Level 8 being $111,376.29 to $117,763.27 per annum, (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus 12% superannuation.
