The City of Kalamunda is seeking an experienced and visionary Manager
Asset Planning to lead the newly formed Asset Planning team and deliver long-term asset sustainability strategies. This is a senior leadership opportunity to influence capital works planning, infrastructure investment, and service delivery for a growing
City.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Director Asset Services this position will -
- Lead the development and implementation of the City’s asset planning framework, including Asset Management Policy, Strategy and Plans.
- Oversee the preparation of the 10-year Capital Works Program and align it with the City’s Long-Term Financial Plan.
- Manage and coordinate valuations, asset condition data, and renewal modelling to support sustainable decision-making.
- Provide high-level advice to senior management, Council, and external stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of asset professionals, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively across directorates to integrate asset planning with service delivery, community expectations, and financial capacity

About You
You will be a results-driven leader with proven experience in asset planning and infrastructure management within local government or a similar environment. You will bring a strong mix of technical expertise and strategic vision, with the ability to influence
outcomes at a corporate level.
You will hold:
- As a minimum, a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, or allied skill areas
- Post graduate qualifications in asset management, management or allied skill areas
- Human Resource Training and or Education or allied skills
- At least 5 years’ experience at Coordinator or higher level within Western Australian Local Governments, managing a multi-disciplinary team

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight with potential for a flexible work arrangement option such as flexitime, a 9-day fortnight or 19-day month is available. On occasion you may be required to work outside of normal business hours.
Location
This position is located at the City of Kalamunda Operations Centre, with travel required to venues within the City of Kalamunda.
