Residents who struggle to manage their household budget when their rates bill comes in can breathe a little easier by adopting a Smarter Way to Pay. A Smarter Way to Pay is available as a no fuss way to pay rates on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The rates Department will determine an amount that would be required to ensure that your rates paid by the end of May. This option will be in place for a minimum of 2 years, payments are reviewed annually in March. There is a $20.00 set up cost for ratepayers who adopt these payment methods. The system aims to ease the burden that a lump sum or limited instalment payment program can cause.  To take advantage of the direct debit or the Smarter Way to Pay option,  please contact the Rates staff to discuss the best option for you on (08) 9257 9999.
