Summer Nights Sorted: Sunset Movie Series Returns in 2026
The magic of outdoor movies is back in the City of Kalamunda, with the 2026 Sunset Series kicking off on Friday 30 January 2026 at Walliston Primary School.
Thanks to a generous $22,000 funding boost from Perth Airport, this year’s program builds on the success of the 2025 season by partnering with local schools to host the movie series. This partnership brings together multigenerational communities and provides valuable fundraising opportunities for schools.
Families can look forward to an expanded lineup of heart-warming, action-packed, and laugh-out-loud films, all in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Mayor Margaret Thomas is excited for the 2026 season, stating “We’re incredibly grateful for Perth Airport’s continued support, which helps us deliver high‑quality, family‑friendly events for our community.”
“By working closely with our local schools, we’re strengthening community connections and creating welcoming spaces where families can come together and enjoy these special summer evenings.”
Each movie night promises a fun-filled evening, with free popcorn, and exciting pre-show activities from 5:30 PM, followed by the outdoor cinema experience. Movies will begin between 6:20 PM and 7:20 PM, perfectly timed with the sunset. Bring your picnic blankets, a low chair, and enjoy a fantastic night with loved ones.
