The City of Kalamunda is seeking a results focused Manager to lead the City of Kalamunda’s Asset Planning & Delivery Team. With planned significant level of capital works programs over the next 10 years, this Manager will be measured by
the successful outcomes in line with the City’s core values of Service, Professionalism and Quality. The challenges will be myriad but on offer is a role that will be able to leave its mark on the City for generations to come.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Director Asset Services this position will lead the Asset Planning & Delivery Team through effective leadership, expertise and management of asset planning, design and survey services, project delivery and traffic engineering for
the City’s 10 Year Capital Works Program.
This position will suit a professional who has highly developed people skills, communication skills and project management knowledge. The role will necessitate demonstrated success in the oversight of capital works programs. The ability to coordinate
varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines will be essential to this role. Exceptional stakeholder management and engagement skills and an understanding of community engagement will also be necessary.
The successful candidate will also be required to develop and implement project management processes and procedures for the organisation. As such the candidate shall bring to the City a great deal of expertise in Project and Contract Management.

About You
To be successful in this role, you must have at least a tertiary qualification in civil, engineering, project management, or similar, or significant demonstrated experience.
Essential skills include but is not limited to:
- Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve organisational outcomes.
- Knowledge of contemporary leadership practices and teamwork.
- Strong knowledge of Local Government legislation, functions, and processes.
- Knowledge in community engagement and consultation processes.
- Strong understanding of asset and project management principles and application.
- Well developed understanding of contract management for large scale construction projects.
- Well-developed report writing skills.
- Good level of financial and budgeting management and analysis.
- Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices.
- Experience in leading business improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
It is not essential but desirable to have:
- Experience in management a multidisciplinary portfolio focused on delivering asset planning, design, delivery and construction services.
- Knowledge in strategic and operational traffic engineering.
- Knowledge in engineering drafting and design process.
- Experience in the contemporary Workplace Health and Safety environment.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight with potential for a flexible work arrangement option such as flexitime, a 9-day fortnight or 19-day month is available. On occasion you may be required to work outside of normal business hours.
Location
This position is located at the City of Kalamunda Operations Centre, with travel required to venues within the City of Kalamunda.
About the Benefits
An attractive 5-year fixed term full-time contract with total remuneration ranging from $165,000 - $185,000 per annum inclusive of superannuation, will be negotiated individually with the successful applicant. The following benefits are also available:
