About this Opportunity
Join a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing community wellbeing through sport and recreation. The Recreation Services Officer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality programs, services, and community initiatives across the City.
This position is focused on building strong, collaborative relationships and acting as a key liaison between sporting clubs, community groups, government agencies, and internal stakeholders. Through these partnerships, you will help ensure the effective
management and activation of sporting reserves, recreation facilities, bookings, funding programs, and community projects.
You will also have the opportunity to lead and shape club development and stakeholder engagement initiatives, including well-established programs such as Clubs 4 Life, KidSport, and a range of community funding opportunities—making
a tangible difference to local participation and inclusion.
Key responsibilities include coordinating reserve allocations, supporting capital works and infrastructure projects, managing agreements, and overseeing essential administrative processes. This role suits a motivated professional with strong communication,
organisational, and problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering inclusive, sustainable, and community-focused recreation outcomes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships and proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including sporting clubs.
- Experience coordinating bookings, agreements, and usage allocations for sporting reserves and/or community facilities.
- Knowledge of sport, recreation, and community development practices within a local government or community environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and projects with a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
- Experience developing and implementing club development and community engagement programs.
- Demonstrated financial and administrative skills, including budgeting, invoice processing, and record management.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off.
About the Benefits
This position offers a salary of Level 6 being $93,063 – $100,087 per annum, (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.
