Attending the Interview

Bring along any supporting documents, if required.
Arrive 15 minutes early to read through the interview questions and prepare your responses.
The recruitment panel consists of at least two members. Interviews follow a set format to ensure equity and fairness to each applicant.
Interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration depending on the role.

Further Assessment

After the interview, People Services may contact your referees to conduct a Reference Check
For some roles a medical and/or drug & alcohol screen maybe undertaken
For some senior or specialty roles further selection testing may be undertaken such as skills assessment tests, emotional intelligence tests and/or cognitive ability tests.
For some roles a police check and/or Working with Children Check will be required.
All successful candidates will need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of their working rights in Australia.

Outcome

The successful candidate will be verbally offered the position, on acceptance they are given a written Offer of Employment.
Once they accept, the other interviewed candidates will be advised by phone call and all other candidates will be advised by email.

About this Opportunity

Provide high quality operational People & Culture support aligned with the City’s strategic objectives and organisational priorities. The People & Culture Officer delivers end to end recruitment services, employee lifecycle administration, HR systems support and first line advisory assistance. The role works collaboratively with leaders and employees to ensure people processes are consistent, compliant, efficient and people focused. This position contributes to organisational capability by supporting workforce initiatives, maintaining accurate records and strengthening employee experience across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Deliver end-to-end recruitment and onboarding in line with policy and legislation
Provide first-line HR advice and support to leaders and employees
Maintain and administer HR systems, databases and employee records
Coordinate recruitment processes including advertising, interviews and reference checks
Draft and update position descriptions and employment documentation
Maintain compliance registers (WWCC, licence checks and related records)
Manage the P&C inbox and respond to general employment enquiries
Support learning and development programs and training systems

The successful candidate will have the following:

Possession of, or progress towards a relevant qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience in administration, customer service or Human Resources services.
Relevant 3-5 years’ experience in human resources deliverables such as recruitment, inductions and administration work.
Ability to maintain and foster positive communication throughout the organisation, and with external customers.
A satisfactory National Police Certificate

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of Level 5/6 being $86,049.49 to $100,087.65 per annum pro rata, (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus 12% superannuation.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Asset Planning, you’ll oversee two Asset Officers providing specialised asset management services to the organisation optimising asset performance and supporting long term planning.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated experience in asset management systems for organisations with substantial quantity and variety of assets.
Comprehensive skills and knowledge of asset planning within local government or a similar environment.
High level of skills and knowledge in associated software systems.
Highly developed analytic skills.
Strongly developed interpersonal skills to work in multidisciplinary business.
Demonstrated high-level organisational and administration skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing Asset Management Policies, Strategies, and Plans.

Strategic Planner

In this role, you’ll contribute to meaningful strategic land use planning projects, provide expert advice, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with the City’s vision, values and statutory obligations.

About this Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of strategic land use planning initiatives that support the City’s long-term vision and growth. You will provide professional and administrative support across the planning and delivery of key projects, including scheme amendments, structure plans, policies and development-related projects aligned with the City’s Strategic Community Plan and Local Planning Strategy.

Working closely with internal teams, stakeholders and the community, you will help ensure the City’s strategic planning function is delivered in accordance with statutory requirements and the City’s planning philosophy. The role also involves providing sound professional advice on strategic land use planning matters and supporting the ongoing development, implementation and administration of the Local Planning Strategy, Local Planning Scheme and associated planning policies.

We are seeking a detail-focused finance professional to support the City’s Financial Services operations. The role delivers high-quality financial, accounting, and customer service support across key Council functions.

About this Opportunity

Under broad supervision of Coordinator Financial Services, provide financial support that is aligned to Council’s strategic planning outcomes and strategies. To support and provide high quality customer service and Financial Services to both internal and external customers, including general ledger reconciliations and various functions covering, banking and investments, insurance, asset and plant registers.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide financial services support aligned to Council’s strategic objectives, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.
Perform banking and investment functions, including bank and investment reconciliations, cashflow forecasting, loan repayments, and investment reporting.
Maintain and reconcile asset and plant registers, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related journal entries.
Administer insurance policies and claims, including maintaining insurance schedules, liaising with insurers and internal stakeholders, and supporting annual renewals.
Process general ledger journals and support month-end, audit, and statutory reporting requirements (including BAS and trust-related transactions).
Provide accurate financial data and projections for budgeting and forecasting purposes across investments, depreciation, and insurance.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, insurers, and service areas, to resolve enquiries and discrepancies.
Deliver high-quality customer service and administrative support, maintaining documentation, systems, and records to a high standard.
Support team operations by providing backup assistance and contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes.
