Planning Your Event

Give yourself enough time: Start planning your event at least six months ahead.
Apply for funding or sponsorship: Each financial year, the City offers event organisers the chance to receive funding support for their community event. Applicants must complete an application form. This application will be assessed and if successful, funding will be awarded to the applicant.
Applications for 2020/21 financial year close 5pm, 31 March 2020

Submit your event application: If an Event Application is required, you should submit this at least three months prior to your event.

Do I need to Submit an Event Application?

YES

Free and ticketed events are open to members of the public, groups and/or organisations.

Events Where Compliance with legislation is required e.g. there are temporary food stalls, temporary electrical fittings are used, temporary public buildings and marquees are erected, or temporary toilet facilities are required.

Or Where an event may exceed the assigned levels noted in the noise legislation.

MAYBE

Your event requires compliance with Health and Noise Regulations.

Any event where the city considers it could have an impact on the surrounding community.

If your event involves the use of a City venue or premises outside the usual operation hours at that location.

NO

Your event is for private members only e.g. private weddings, family events, birthday parties etc. where the general public are not invited and events that take place at home
