Christmas & New Year Opening Times 2025-2026
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All from the City Mayor, Councillors, CEO & all the staff. Additional recycling bin collections and some of our facilities including Ranger Services have adjusted operating hours over this festive season.
NOTE: On Friday, 19 December 2025 some of our City facilities including the Administration Centre, all Libraries and Walliston Transfer Station will be closing early.
BIN COLLECTIONS: The City is providing an extra bin collection during the Christmas and New Year period for all residents. For the two full weeks over the holiday period (from Monday 22 December to Saturday 3 January) all three bins will be collected.
- Bring out all 3 bins - general waste, recycling and FOGO, before 6am on bin day
- If your usual bin day falls on or after a public holiday, your bins will be collected on the following day.

Fortnightly recycling collections will resume as per the waste services calendar the week commencing 5 January 2026.
RANGER HOURS:
The City of Kalamunda Rangers hours of operation are as follows:
Christmas Day, 25 December 2025: No Rangers on Duty
Boxing Day, 26 December 2025: No Rangers on Duty
27 December 2025 - 1 January 2026: 7:30am – 3:30pm each day
Please note:
- Residents are encouraged not to trap cats from 19 December 2025 as cats will not be collected, the City’s Animal Management Facility is closed over the Christmas Period.
- Residents who have found animals on Christmas Day or Boxing Day are encouraged to hold until the next working day (27 December 2025) or alternatively take the animal to a local emergency vet.
- Please DO NOT to trap cats over this holiday period Rangers cannot collected until they are back on shift, 27 December 2025.
Normal hours will commence again on Friday 2 January 2026.

If your call is received outside of hours, please leave your details with the after-hours operators. The operators provide contact details to the relevant on-duty staff member including Rangers. Where not urgent, the City will return your call the following working day.
