City of Kalamunda Transitions to Burning Permitted Season
The City’s burning permitted season begins on Monday, 1 June 2025.
The City’s burning permitted season will begin on Monday, 1 June 2025, and continue through to 30 September 2025. During this period, permits are not required for burning.
If you plan to burn, please follow these important guidelines:
Only burn dry garden waste – avoid burning wet materials to minimise smoke
Do not burn if your pile is damp – wet materials create excessive smoke
Be mindful of health impacts, especially for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions
For safer burns, wait 2 to 3 days after significant rain, or keep your burn pile covered to ensure it stays dry
Make use of your allocated green skips wherever possible
Stay up to date with local advisories for any changes to the burning season schedule.
For further details, visit the City’s website or contact the City's Bushfire Preparedness team on 9257 9999.
