City Celebrates Seniors Week Program to Inspire and Energise
The City of Kalamunda has launched its Seniors Week Program for 2025, featuring a variety of events designed to keep seniors moving, inspired, and connected.
Seniors Week is delivered in partnership with the Darling Range Hub, Woodlupine Family Centre, Bendigo Community Bank Forrestfield, and the City of Kalamunda.
The program sees the return of popular event staples such as the Bingo Lunch and educational workshops focusing on scam awareness and navigating the aged care system. There are also plenty of activities to keep seniors active, with a wide range of classes at Hartfield Park Recreation Centre to help participants stay energised and engaged. Chair Yoga and Qi Gong offer opportunities for mindfulness, while local craft groups come together to help the community stay creative and connected.
Mayor Margaret Thomas emphasised the significance of Seniors Week in bringing communities together, stating, “Our seniors are the heart of our community, yet they can often feel the most isolated,” said Mayor Margaret Thomas. “Seniors Week is a powerful opportunity to reconnect, celebrate their wisdom, and honour the contributions they continue to make.”
“I encourage everyone to explore the program and get involved. it’s a wonderful week of connection, celebration, and community spirit.”
While most activities are free, some may incur a small fee. Events are popular, so bookings are essential!
