Public Notice: Proposed Divestment of freehold land - Lot 8 (3) Urch Rd, Lot 7 (12) McRae Road
The City of Kalamunda is preparing for the proposed sale of two City-owned residential lots at Lot 8 (3) Urch Rd, Lot 7 (12) McRae Road.
The City periodically reviews its land asset portfolio to ensure that these resources can demonstrate community benefit and meet the City’s long term financial and asset management objectives.
At the 25 February 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council resolved to commence the sales process for Lot 8 (3) Urch Road and Lot 7 (12) McRae Road, Kalamunda (subject lots). The Council has also committed a portion of the sales proceeds to improving the adjacent Andrew Street Reserve for environmental amenity improvements.
Revenue from the sale will support community-focused projects, including planned environmental and amenity upgrades to the adjacent Andrew Street Reserve. The lots, zoned Residential R10/20, are suitable for residential development and are not part of the reserve itself.
In preparation for sale, the lots have been surveyed and will be fenced, with weed control and bushfire mitigation works to follow. A gravel path will also be constructed to maintain access between Andrew Street Reserve and McRae Road.
The sale will be conducted via private treaty, in accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995. Community consultation on the sale and the future of Andrew Street Reserve will occur in the second half of 2025.
