Nominations Invited – Community Reference Groups for Kalamunda Projects

The City of Kalamunda is calling for nominations for two community reference groups to assist with the development and implementation of key transport and waterways strategies to future-proof the region.

The City of Kalamunda is seeking nominations for the Kalamunda Flowing Reference Group (KFRG) and the Kalamunda Moving Reference Group (KMRG). Each group is seeking nominations to fill five (5) community representative positions. Nominations close 5pm, Monday 20 January 2020.

Heidelberg Potential Aged Care Site

The City of Kalamunda has welcomed the State Government’s announcement confirming a preferred location for a new aged care facility in the City. The site, located on the borders of Lesmurdie, Walliston and Carmel, was formerly an orchard and is currently owned by the State Government.

Schmitt Road Land Resolved

The City of Kalamunda has welcomed an announcement from the State Government today, advising the proposed sale of State Government land at 30, 34 and 39 Schmitt Road will not proceed. It is intended instead for the site to continue to be utilised as part of the Railway Heritage Trail.

Don’t Risk It – Get Your Pet Microchipped for Free!

The City of Kalamunda is offering two, free microchipping and registration (fees apply) sessions in November for sterilised cats and dogs living in the City. The first session on Saturday 16 November will be at Hartfield Park Recreation Centre with a second session at the City of Kalamunda Administration building on Saturday 23 November. Both sessions will run from 9am to 1pm.

Bushfire Preparedness Starts with You

As we head into bushfire season, the City of Kalamunda has issued a timely prompt – take five minutes to create your bushfire plan. City officers along with the Kalamunda Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade have been carrying out a hazard reduction program since Autumn, including mitigation burns, fuel load reductions, fire inspections and maintenance of fire breaks.

Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road: After Hours Works

Construction works are currently underway on the Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road Interchange Upgrade. On Wednesday 23 October 2019, Georgiou will be undertaking traffic management works on Kalamunda Road. To ensure the safety of our workforce and minimise disruption to road users, traffic management and median works need to take place when traffic flow is at its lowest. As such, this activity will be carried out at night.
