Climate change affects our community locally. We can see this in the increase in extreme weather events, the drying climate and its impacts upon water supply and vegetation, and the overall increase in average temperatures. The adverse effects of climate change affect everyone.
As a signatory of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) Climate Change Declaration, the City of Kalamunda recognises that climate change is occurring and will continue to have a significant effect on the Western Australian environment, society, and economy. The Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) is the first step in addressing risks to our City’s environment, economy, infrastructure, community health, safety, and wellbeing.
As the City implements actions from the Climate Change Action Plan 2023-2034 and other plans like the City’s Waste Plan, we will keep you updated through our Climate Change Knowledge Hub – stay tuned!
