Kitchen Caddy & Liners

No, the kitchen caddy belongs to the property. Just like your recycling, general waste and FOGO bin - they also stay at the property when you move.

Yes, your caddy can be placed in the bottom shelf of your dishwasher. Don’t forget to pop the lid off the caddy to avoid damaging the writing on the lid.

If you have recently moved in, check there is a kitchen caddy and set of liners left behind - if not, contact us.

The kitchen caddy has a 7L capacity and the liners are 8L. Line the caddy with the liners - or you don't have to use the liners, you can use the caddy as it is.

• Add your food scraps and other compostable materials (like coffee grounds and tea leaves).
• Once the caddy or liner is full, empty the contents into your FOGO bin (lime-green lid).
• Return your addy to the kitchen and start again!
• Your caddy can be placed in the dishwasher - just take the lid off first so that the hot-stamping doesn't fade.

However full, please place your FOGO bin out for weekly collection on your usual day.

You can also purchase kitchen caddy liners (at cost) at the above locations if you have run out.

This financial year (2025/2026) City of Kalamunda residents you can collect up to 2 x free rolls (75 in a pack) of the compostable caddy liners. 

The allocation of 2x free liners applies to those properties that pay for a Standard Residential Full Service. That is, properties with additional bin services are not entitled to additional free liners, however they may purchase more liners at cost. For example, if there is a granny flat (and it has an additional bin), the granny flat doesn't receive the free liners.

Residents need to bring their entry pass to collect the liners - this is the preferred method for ease of collection. Alternatively, you can provide proof that you're a City of Kalamunda resident with identification that contains your address such as your driver's licence, rates notice or utility bill.

Kitchen caddies are available at the above locations and can be purchased at cost price. See our fees and charges for more information. 

You are entitled to 2 free rolls, and you can claim them using proof of address. If you require a new kitchen caddy, please contact the Waste Team on 9257 9999 or email waste@kalamunda.wa.gov.au.
