Impounded Animals

Before the Animal can be released, proof of ownership is required. 

The City of Kalamunda do not rehome animals directly from the Animal Management Facility (Pound).  Accredited rehoming agencies are used for unclaimed animals. 

To claim an animal from the City of Kalamunda which has no identification or the details are not current, you will be asked to provide proof of ownership in a way of a receipt/ photographs/ previous registration details or alternatively you can sign a statutory declaration stating you are the owner of the animal.

1. Contact Community Safety- Rangers (9257 9999) to let them know you are the owner of the animal and the process of collection will be advised. 
2. Provide relevant proof of ownership in a way of an email or in person
3. Arrange payment of any incurred fees and charges
4. Microchipping is a legal requirement under state legislation, if your dog or cat is not microchipped you are required to arrange an appointment prior to collection. 
5. Once payment and/or registration is complete, the Ranger provides the relevant information for the animal to be released and collected.
