Artists Biography

The construct of time is a paradigm that intrigues and informs my Art practice. The reference to time passing: the past, present, and future through the relationship to the landscape. We are now living in the Epoch of the Anthropocene which is described as “the period of time in which human activities have impacted the environment enough to constitute a distinct geological change.”

As a multi-disciplinary artist, I endeavour to portray the concept of environmental fragility across mediums. The collection and use of the ‘Rabbit proof’ fencing wire from regional Western Australia is a literal and metaphorical symbol of colonisation. The incorporation of natural fibres alludes to the historical effects of the fence across the continent and farming practices. Wire is layered to either create transparent shapes or solid forms echoing nature to stand as markers in this troubled time.
