Correction re: Candidate Post
A candidate post advises that recent audits of the City of Kalamunda by the WA Auditor General raise serious concerns and suggestions of impropriety. This statement is untrue.
The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) performed the statutory audit of the Annual Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June 2022.
The Annual Financial Statements along with the Audit Opinion were presented and noted at the City’s Audit and Risk Committee on 6 December 2022, and were presented at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 13 December 2022.
The audit raised an issue with regard to the City’s reporting and valuation methodology related to infrastructure assets for the 2021/22 financial year.
This specifically related to the valuation methodology applied to underground drainage and pits , electrical pits and conduits.
The Audit opinion stated that:
The OAG did not issue any findings related to impropriety regarding the City’s financial management practices.
A copy of the full annual report including the Audit response (from page 61) is available here.
