City transitions to Restricted Burning Season: No permits to burn granted until further notice
The restricted burning period commenced Monday 6 May until Friday 31 May 2024. During this time, permits to burn will not be issued until further notice.
However, pile burning (1m3 = 1m x 1m x 1m) between 6pm and 11pm (fully extinguished by midnight) is permitted - as long as the fire danger rating is not high or above.
The fire conditions will continue to be assessed as we move through the Restricted Burning Season and further announcements regarding when permits will be issued and pile burning permitted will be made accordingly.
These measures are in place in response to prevailing weather conditions and to ensure the safety of our community.
We remind residents and landowners to adhere to this directive to safeguard lives and property. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Key dates relating to bushfire restrictions and burning is available on our website.
