City Calls for Advisory Group Nominations

The City of Kalamunda is pleased to announce the call for nominations to join several important advisory groups that play a pivotal role in shaping the City's future.

Acting CEO Gary Ticehurst highlights the significance of these advisory groups, stating, "Our advisory groups are really important and allow the community to be involved in providing advice, feedback and direction on a myriad of topics and themes."

The following advisory groups are currently seeking nominations:

Kalamunda Arts Advisory Group

The City of Kalamunda recognises that the Arts contribute to the overall well-being and liveability of a community. This group's purpose is to provide information and advice about current and emerging arts related matters to Kalamunda City Council for the purpose of decision-making and planning. The City is seeking nominations to fill four-six (4-6) members from varying parts of the Arts Community residing in the district.

Kalamunda Environmental and Sustainability Advisory Group

This group makes recommendations to Council on environmental policy and practice and provides feedback on community engagement matters relating to policy and practice. It also assists the City and its work within the community to encourage an increased level of awareness relating to the matters presented and discussed and highlights the Council’s projects whereby the City Officer will have an opportunity to actively engage with representatives of the community. The City is seeking nominations to fill five (5) community representative positions for this group.

Disability and Carers Advisory Group

The DCAG advises and makes recommendations to Council, on a range of strategic issues which affect the quality of life of people with disability, their families and carers living in and visiting the City of Kalamunda. The City of Kalamunda is seeking nominations to fill up to five (5) community representative and up to two (2) organisational positions for this group.

Strategic Sport and Recreation Advisory Group

The SSRAG makes recommendation to Council for the allocation of funding to support Capital sport and recreation projects within the City. The City is seeking nominations to fill up to nine (9) sport and recreation representatives from the community for this group.

Kalamunda Economic and Tourism Development Advisory Group

The KETDAG provides information, support and advice about the current and emerging trends in Economic & Tourism Development. The Group advises Council on matters regarding the implementation of City initiatives relating to Economic & Tourism Development. The Group provides advice and makes recommendations to Council on strategic issues which will help implement the Economic Development & Tourism Development Strategies. The City is seeking nominations to fill up to six (6) community representatives from City of Kalamunda businesses and tourism industry.

Nominations for all groups close 5pm, Monday 13 November 2023.
