The City of Kalamunda is celebrating babies born between May 2022 and April 2023 to parents living in the City at this year’s Commemorative Tree Planting Ceremony.
The City of Kalamunda is celebrating babies born between May 2022 and April 2023 to parents living in the City at this year’s Commemorative Tree Planting Ceremony.
Families are invited to register to partake in the ceremony on 7 July 2023 at Jacaranda Springs, Ledger Road Reserve and Maamba Reserve, where plaques will be installed displaying all the names of their little ones!
Families will also receive a certificate for their baby and a plant to take home.
Plants available for planting this year include the Banksia Attenuata, the Kunzea Muntries, the Grevillea Masons Hybrid, and the Eucalyptus Erythrocorys.
Mayor Margaret Thomas said the ceremony is an important day for residents to appreciate the City’s flora and fauna and commemorate their children’s lives.
“The long running commemorative trees program is a fantastic way for new families to celebrate the birth of their children.”
“It is a long running tradition which has been in place since the late 1980’s, helping families to bond with their local parks and reserves.”
Registrations close Monday, 30 May at 5pm.
