Whether you are into dancing, instruments, or just music in general, Sassafras has what you are looking for!
Formed in 2015, musical band Sassafras combines toe-tapping swing, gypsy classics, French ballads and re-worked jazz standards to create an intriguing mix of acoustic music performed in gypsy jazz tradition.
Mayor Margaret Thomas said, “The Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre is an absolute gem of a theatre. The sound, lighting and ambience is unforgettable. The City aims to provide a wide variety of shows and the spectacular Sassafras are sure to delight audiences of all ages.”
“If you haven’t been along to the theatre for a little while, or maybe you are planning to come along for the first time, this is a show to remember.”
In a special one-day only live showcase on April 30 at 2pm at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, the band will feature performances from Jessie Gordon, Pete Jeavons, Aaron Deacon, Lachlan Gear and Emily Gelineau, tapping into their respective instruments or voice, double bass, acoustic guitars, and violin.
The performance will showcase music by Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Cole Porter and many more!
