City Seeking Artists EOI for 25th Anniversary Bibbulmun Track Celebrations

In 2023, the Bibbulmun Track will celebrate its 25th Anniversary, as part of these celebrations, the City of Kalamunda will be partnering with the Bibbulmun Track, hosting a Ceremony at the Northern Terminus. As part of the 25 Celebrations, the City is wishing to engage a local Noongar artist/s to create a series of natural ephemeral community public art installations, situated at the Northern Terminus.

First opened in 1998, the Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long-distance walk trails, stretching 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany on the south coast, winding through the heart of the scenic Southwest of Western Australia.

The Northern Terminus Celebrations are expected to include, official ceremonial start, ephemeral art installation, activities for the who family, ingenious cultural experience, and more!

As part of the 25 Celebrations, the City is wishing to engage a local Noongar artist/s to create a series of natural ephemeral community public art installations, situated at the Northern Terminus. 

How to submit your EOI

Artists are invited to submit an expression of interest if they wish to be selected to develop an artwork commission concept proposal. In your proposal, please provide the following –

  1. Explanation and concept drawings of proposed medium – large scale ephemeral art pieces
  2. Proposed materials the works will be created from.
  3. Proposed time frames
  4. Identify resources you will need the City to provide, e.g.: location for workshops, storage of artworks in between workshops and installation etc.
  5. Proposed Budget / Quote breakdown.

Submissions to be received by Friday 10 March 2023 @ 3pm
