Extractive Industries Local Law 2021

The City of Kalamunda is providing a public notice for the adoption of the Extractive Industries Local Law 2021. This law will come into effect on Friday, 30 April 2021.

The purpose of the local law is to:

i. prohibit the carrying on of an extractive industry unless by authority of a licence issued by the local government;

ii. regulate the carrying on of the extractive industry in order to minimise damage to the environment, thoroughfares and other persons health and property; and

iii. provide for the restoration and reinstatement of any excavation site. The effect of the local law is to require that any person wanting to carry on an extractive industry will need to be licensed and will need to comply with the provisions of this local law.

This law will come into effect on Friday, 30 April 2021.
