Ledger Road: Notice of Proposed Hazard Reduction Burn
The City of Kalamunda wishes to advise of a proposed hazard reduction burn off scheduled to happen daily at Ledger Road in Gooseberry Hill between 30th September to 11th October 2019 daily between 7.30am to 4.00pm - subject to weather conditions and resources.
You may wish to undertake the following steps to limit the effects of smoke and embers around your property.
- Remove washing from clothes lines
- Close windows and manage your evaporative air conditioners
- Remove shade sails and other items possibly affected by embers or heat
You may notice smouldering logs, embers and smoke coming from the burnt area for a few days afterwards. This is normal. If you have concerns and the fire is increasing in size call the Fire Brigade on “000”
The City Fire Crew do follow-up checks during office hours on all hazard reduction burns in the following days to ensure community safety.
