The City of Kalamunda is inviting tourism businesses and operators to register their event by June 30 and be part of the 2019 Perth Hills Spring Festival, starting October 11.

Now in its fifth, year the festival aims to attract visitors and locals to Kalamunda with a busy five weeklong program of music, markets, film, dance, art, local food and wine, guided nature walks, market activity and a range of family friendly entertainment.

The festival aims to highlight Kalamunda as a diverse, unique and vibrant destination for Perth tourists and weekenders, as well as attract locals to re-discover and celebrate the region, the 2017 event attracting over 32,000 visitors.

Mayor John Giardina said the growing event is a signal of the potential of Kalamunda to be a top destination for international tourists and Perth travellers.

“Kalamunda has so much to offer, it has of course an exceptional natural environment, but also possesses a unique character, evident in our both our local people and in our vibrant town life,” said Mayor John Giardina.

“The Perth Hills Spring Festival really shows Kalamunda in its full colours and at such a beautiful time of the year - bringing the streets alive with all that our local businesses and tourism operators have to offer.”

“The City owns and operates the Experience Perth Hills Brand, which is all about promoting the region as a tourism destination and this event is a strong crowd attractor as a part of that promotion.”

Registration is free, though participants are responsible for the coordination and promotion of their own events. Registered events will be included on the festival program and relevant festival promotions at the discretion of organisers.

Participants are also invited to submit their suggestions to further promote this year’s festival and encourage the use of the hashtag #experienceperthhills.

Participants can register online experienceperthhills.com.au/spring-festival or pick up a registration form at the City of Kalamunda Administration. Registrations close June 30, 2019. For more information email enquiries@kalamunda.wa.gov.au
