Mayor John Giardina said, “NAIDOC Week is important to the City of Kalamunda community, as it’s a time where we come together to celebrate Aboriginal culture, its significance, and its special connection to this land.
Our annual NAIDOC Week Art Exhibition gives creatives the opportunity to express the various facets of this beautiful, rich and vibrant culture through art.
It’s something we have been proud to showcase for the past five years and have been fortunate to feature some well-known local artists including Sharon Egan, Aurora Abraham, Nerolie Bynder-Blurton, Robyn Hardy-Ngarritjan, Shelly Piang-Nee and Norma McDonald.”
Registrations are open to both indigenous and non-indigenous artists and entry is free. All art forms are welcomed, from paintings to sculptures, though the pieces must be for sale. Artists are required to drop-off their artwork to the Gallery for selection between 11am and 2pm on Tuesday 25 June.
Exhibition Application Packs are available at the Zig Zag Gallery and City of Kalamunda Libraries. The Application Pack can also be downloaded from the Zig Zag Gallery website www.zzcc.com.au.
