The Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB) is an invasive beetle posing a significant threat to Western Australia’s trees and ecosystems
In collaboration with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, the City of Kalamunda is hosting a free community information session to understand more about this invasive pest and the steps they can take to identify and report suspected infestations.
This one-hour session includes a 45-minute presentation by DPIRD, followed by a Q&A session. Topics covered in the presentation will include:
- The biology and life cycle of the beetle
- The types of trees most at risk, including those commonly found in orchards
- How to identify signs of infestation
- Steps to report suspected infestations
Event is free but registration is essential: https://www.trybooking.com/CWFHK
We encourage you to attend and take this opportunity to learn how to safeguard your orchards from the PSHB.
For more information or to report a PSHB sighting, contact DPIRD on 9368 3080, via email to padis@dpird.wa.gov.au or report via the MyPestGuide® Reporter app
