POSTPONED - Author talk: Vivien Stuart
17 November 2022 : 5:30 PM - 17 November 2022 : 6:30 PM
** Due to unforeseen circumstance this event is being rescheduled to 2023 ** Vivien Stuart's debut novel 'Acacia House' is about three nurses who, for some of their careers, work in a hospice in Perth.
Vivien Stuart trained as a nurse and midwife and, in the 1990s, became a palliative care nurse. Her novel 'Acacia House' has been described as ‘functional empathy’ - ‘psychological, political and deeply personal’. This presentation includes Vivien’s rationale for writing 'Acacia House' with its central theme of palliative care nursing, and will hopefully correct some common misconceptions about the nature of palliative care.
