City of Kalamunda Youth Officer Wins Emerging Leader of the Year Award

13 November 2024 10:42 AM

The City of Kalamunda is thrilled to announce that Youth Officer, Sam Cranswick, has been honoured with the prestigious Emerging Leader of the Year Award at this year’s LG Pro WA Conference.

Sam has dedicated herself to serving the community, reaching this impressive achievement after only two years in the Local Government sector! This distinguished award celebrates young professionals under 35 who demonstrate exceptional commitment and leadership in local government, and Sam’s efforts have set a new standard.

Mayor Margaret Thomas calls for the community to celebrate her achievements “We’re incredibly proud of Sam and all she’s achieved for our community. Her passion and commitment to our young people make such a positive impact, and this award is well-deserved recognition of her hard work.”

“Sam’s dedication to empowering our youth is truly inspiring. I’m excited to see the future she’s helping to shape here in the City of Kalamunda, and I have no doubt she’ll continue making a meaningful difference for years to come.”

Sam’s unwavering dedication and passion for supporting young people have made a remarkable impact, and her drive to make a difference continues to inspire. In her time at the City, Sam has transformed the City’s Youth Services, creating new pathways for youth engagement in local government, expanding the Youth Action Kalamunda Team to include the City’s first primary school team and introducing the Skaters Meet and Greet, which builds connections between youth, local police and the City’s Community Safety Team.

Sam is a key driver behind the Haynes Street Revival Project, a collaboration between the RAC and Kalamunda Town Team to engage youth to activate the Kalamunda Town Centre.
