The City of Kalamunda is excited to share the new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Kalamunda Library is now operational.
As
per Council decision, the charging station will be free for the first
few months, offering a fantastic opportunity for our community to
experience the convenience and benefits of electric vehicle ownership.
Mayor
Margaret Thomas expressed her enthusiasm for this new station, stating,
“After the free use period, the public charger will accept credit card
payments, making it accessible to everyone in our community. This is
another step forward in our commitment to sustainability and supporting
greener transportation options for our residents.”
The
new charging station, an Alternating Current (AC) BEV charger with two
sockets, was jointly funded through the State Government's Charge Up EV
Grant and the City.
“The
City remains dedicated to promoting sustainable initiatives and
reducing our carbon footprint,” Cr Thomas said. The introduction of this
EV charging station aligns with our broader environmental goals and
commitment to supporting the adoption of greener transportation
solutions within our community."
