Upgrades: Walliston Transfer Station

Estimated Completion Date : approx. June 2023
Location : 155 Lawnbrook Road, Walliston

Upgrade works are scheduled to commence mid-April 2021, the upgrade is part of the 20-year licence renewal improvements at the Walliston Transfer Station and include: 

  • new road access (commenced April 2021)
  • improved safety
  • more user-friendly drop off points for separated waste
  • planning for a new community re-use shop (Vote for your favourite name! Closes Monday 31 January 2022, 5:00pm)

Works are estimated to be completed in 2023. 

ENTRY 

From 2 December 2021, the entry gate and gatehouse will be accessed further east towards Pomeroy Road. Vehicle movement throughout the site will be strictly one way. The exit gate will remain in the same location.

Speed limit is 10km/h

The Transfer Station can be busy, we ask visitors to please be patient and follow signage and directions accordingly.

Location of Materials are now located into 3 areas as indicated below:

  • Area 1: Green waste | Building rubble | Whitegoods | Fridges | Microwaves | Mattresses | Glass bottles | Tyres | Printers & computers | Televisions
  • Area 2: Clothing | Cardboard | Polystyrene
  • Area 3: Clean metal | Mixed metal | Mixed general waste | Wood | Fluoro tubes & globes | Electrical waste & cables | Aluminium | Stainless steel | Acid & Alkaline lithium batteries | Mobile phones | Printer cartridges | Nespresso capsules

COMMUNITY RE-USE SHOP

It's time to vote for your favourite name from the shortlist! We've narrowed the suggested names down to a list of five for the Community Re-Use Shop at the Walliston Transfer Station. Please visit Engage Kalamunda to vote for the name you'd like to use! Voting closes Monday 31 January, so get in quick!

The shop will be proudly managed by Workpower, which promotes employment for people with disability.
