The City of Kalamunda is progressing Stage One of the High Wycombe Community Hub, a transformative project designed to deliver state-of-the-art, sustainable recreation and community facilities. The Hub will be the first major development within the High Wycombe Transit-Oriented Development precinct, providing essential recreational, sporting, and commercial amenities to meet the needs of a growing population.

Stage One is partially funded through $60 million in commitments from the Australian and Western Australian Governments and a $10 million commitment from Council. 

Stage One will include:

  • An aquatic and recreation centre with indoor and outdoor pools, gym facilities, and wellness amenities

  • Flexible community spaces for events, programs, and social connection

  • Landscaped public open spaces and more than 200 car bays to support accessibility and integration with the surrounding precinct

Future Planned Stages: will include further enhancements to the Hub’s facilities, expanding its capacity to support a wider range of sporting, cultural, and community activities. Stage Two will be delivered once funding is secured.

 

The City's Development Approval was approved in December 2025.

The Hub will support Metronet's vision of the precinct, promote active, healthy lifestyles, provide inclusive spaces forcommunity connection, and will build local economic activity through job creation and increased visitation.

Designed with carbon neutrality in mind and aligned with the City’s Climate Change Action Plan, the Hub will be a lasting investment in the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of the community.
