Milner Road Trial Closure to Conclude Early Following Council Resolution
At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 27 October 2026, Council resolved to conclude the Milner Road Trial Closure ahead of its planned completion date.
The trial closure to through traffic commenced on 12 October 2026 and was originally scheduled to operate for four weeks.
Following consideration of a Notice of Motion, Council resolved that the trial should cease immediately and requested that the City reopen Milner Road to through traffic as soon as the necessary traffic management arrangements can be safely implemented.
City crews today removed the temporary barriers and associated signage and reopened the road.
Throughout the trial, the City received community feedback from residents, road users and other stakeholders. While the trial is ending earlier than originally planned, the online feedback form will remain available for community members who wish to provide feedback on their experience during the trial period.
Feedback received will help inform the City's understanding of the impacts observed during the trial.
