As a Statutory Planner, you'll have the opportunity to play an important role in shaping the future development of a growing community while building your professional expertise within local government. Working alongside experienced planning professionals, you'll assess a diverse range of development applications, provide planning advice to residents and stakeholders, and contribute to the preparation of planning policies and strategic initiatives. This role offers exposure to the full spectrum of statutory planning, providing an excellent platform for career growth and ongoing professional development.

You'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of planning matters, work closely with senior planners and key decision-makers, and have opportunities to expand your knowledge of planning legislation, policy development, subdivision assessment, and development control.

Skills and experience required for this position:

  • Experience in providing full spectrum of planning and development services and information including but not limited to the Local Planning Scheme and associated Policy.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and laws relevant to Local Government and corporate administration, particularly in the areas of Statutory Planning.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to function effectively to meet short deadlines in a pressured environment.
  • Accurate presentation of advice, instruction/guidance and research findings, both verbally and written, via all standard forms of business communication
  • Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or an equivalent or demonstrated evidence of working towards obtaining the degree (final year).

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday, 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off option

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of Level 5/6 being $86,049 – 100,087 per annum, (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.
