Facilities Maintenance Officer

About this Opportunity

In this role you will support the Facilities Maintenance Team with the delivery of planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and renewal projects required to City facilities and other assets, within budget parameters and in a timely manner.

 Key responsibilities for this position:

  • Delegate day-to-day maintenance requests/tasks.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and queries, including follow up phone requests and inspections.
  • Follow procurement process to obtain services and materials, approve supplier invoices and use technical knowledge to provide best value for money for the City.
  • Plan and organise workflow and provide support and guidance to repair officers.
  • Contract Administration and Management - ensure tendered works are completed to the specification and pricing stated in the tender.
  • Procurement – Prepare RFT and RFQ specifications, participate in tender assessment panels and write tender evaluation reports.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining existing Planned Maintenance Schedules.
  • Identify needs and assist Coordinator to develop and implement new planned maintenance schedules.
  • Identify, plan, project manage and deliver minor Capital works renewal projects.
  • Provide on-call support on a roster basis.

Key skills & experience required:

  • Relevant trade or diploma qualification (preferably carpentry) and/or extensive experience in facility maintenance.
  • Current Construction Safety Awareness Card (White card).
  • Sound knowledge in planned and reactive maintenance practices as well as project management.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret drawings.
  • Experience working within defined budgets.

Hours of Work

This is a fixed term, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight ending on 1 June 2027.

About the Benefits

This position offers a Level 6 salary being $93,063.28 – $100,087.65 per annum (depending on experience and skill level), plus superannuation and commute vehicle use.

Flexible work arrangements or the option for a rostered day off fortnightly or monthly is available.
