As a Development Engineer, you'll play a key role in assessing and guiding development projects, ensuring infrastructure outcomes align with engineering standards, legislative requirements, and the City's long-term vision. Working across subdivision, development and traffic management matters, you'll collaborate with developers, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable, high-quality outcomes that enhance the City of Kalamunda for current and future generations.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assess and provide engineering advice on subdivision and development applications.
• Review development proposals and recommend conditions in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Review and approve Traffic Management Plans and undertake compliance checks.
• Undertake technical assessments of engineering documentation, drainage, and infrastructure impacts.
• Liaise and negotiate with developers, consultants, service authorities, and internal stakeholders to facilitate development outcomes.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise subdivision and development works to ensure compliance with City requirements.
• Administer subdivision clearances, bonds, and associated development approvals processes.
• Provide expert engineering advice to support infrastructure planning and asset management decisions.
• Contribute to sustainable growth by ensuring new developments align with the City's standards and long-term infrastructure objectives

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (or 5 years equivalent experience).
• Basic Traffic Management qualifications (Advanced qualification desirable)
• Possession of a construction White Card
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate

Hours of Work

This is a fixed-term full-time position for a period of 24 months, working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight.
