Salary:  Level 7 being $102,391.49 to $108,637.34 per annum, (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus 12% superannuation.

About this Opportunity

Play a key role in shaping the City’s future waste services by delivering innovative projects that improve sustainability, operational efficiency, and community outcomes. This diverse role will lead and support strategic initiatives including the Waste Management Plan, commercial waste programs, transfer station improvements, resource recovery opportunities, contract management, compliance activities, and waste data analysis. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will help drive continuous improvement, increase environmental performance, and support the delivery of high-quality waste services across the City.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead projects supporting the City's Waste Management Plan and future waste initiatives.
• Drive resource recovery opportunities and service improvements.
• Analyse waste data and deliver innovative solutions to improve sustainability and operational efficiency.
• Manage waste-related contracts, tenders and stakeholder relationships.
• Support transfer station improvements, compliance activities and strategic waste projects.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience in waste management, environmental science, project management, or local government operations.
• Current C class driver’s licence.
• Ongoing professional development in project management, waste operations, or related disciplines will be supported and encouraged.
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate
• Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. In addition, applications requesting work sponsorship will not be considered.
  

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight.
