About this Opportunity
As a Community Safety Officer – Trainee reporting to the Coordinator Community Safety, you will learn and develop the skills required to provide high-quality customer service as the initial point of contact for enquiries and information requests from internal and external customers.
You will develop knowledge and practical experience in clerical and administrative support functions across Community Safety, Ranger Services, Fire Compliance, and Emergency Management while working under supervision. You will also work in accordance with Council policies, legislation, operational standards, specifications, and procedures aligned with the City’s strategic outcomes.
About You
You will possess strong communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. The role also requires the ability to build positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues, while developing knowledge of Local Government functions, legislation, and community safety services.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2027 working full time (75 hours per fortnight) Monday to Friday, with option of a 9-day fortnight.
About the Benefits
This position offers a salary of Level 4 being $78,184 – $83,302 per annum (pro rata), plus superannuation.
