Parenting During Early Childhood - Bringing Neuroscience (and loads of heart) to early child development
14 April 2026 : 6:00 PM - 14 April 2026 : 7:30 PM
This session is targeted at parents and carers.
This free session helps parents and professionals understand what young children need as they grow, learn and manage big feelings. It explains why children behave the way they do, what their developing brains are working hard to make sense of, and how adults can support them with calm, confident guidance.
The presentation covers key topics such as developmental stages, school readiness, separation anxiety, big feelings and behaviour, setting loving boundaries, and common challenges like sleep, sibling conflict and screen time. The focus is on building strong, warm relationships that support children now and into the future.
A local Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist will be available for informal conversations, and Zig Zag Early Years Partnership (ZZEYP) providers will host information stalls to share supports available to families.
