From Friends of Kadina Brook: ‘Let’s build more leaky weirs!’

27 April 2024 : 8:30 AM - 27 April 2024 : 12:00 PM

Last year local people built the first riffle (leaky weir) into our beautiful Kadina Brook.

This hugely successful project slowed the flow of water in the creekline, introduced tadpoles into the still waters of the riffle, gave birds and animals a drinking site and brought together people of all ages (13-70+) in the making.

Before rain (finally) falls, Friends of Kadina Brook would like to build two more riffles. One larger, to reduce erosion in the creek bed and protect large trees, and a smaller riffle to help hold back water next to a 100-year-old paper bark tree. They'd love to have your help and enthusiasm!

So put it in your diary!
