Walliston Transfer Station

City of Kalamunda residents do not pay fees for the non-commercial use of the Walliston Transfer Station. 

To gain free access, please ensure you bring:   

  • Entry Pass and your
  • Proof of residency (e.g. Driver’s licence)

Entry Pass

Find your Walliston Transfer Station Entry Pass in your latest Rates Notice. The Entry Pass will provide you with:

Unlimited entries to dispose of green waste. Items include:

  • branches and stumps (less than 300mm in diameter)
  • lawn clippings (no lawn sod or soil)
  • leaves 
  • prunings

Unlimited entries to dispose of agreed recyclable materials. Items include:

  • clothing and blankets
  • cardboard (with no plastic wrapping, packaging, polystyrene or styrofoam) 
  • colourbond fence panels 
  • dry cell batteries
  • e-waste - including computers, DVD players, heaters, printers, radios, televisions, vacuums and small electrical household items
  • fencing wire 
  • fluorescent globes
  • glass 
  • metal of any type (cut to a maximum of 1.5m length, width, height and not solid) 
  • motor oil (maximum of 20 litres)
  • motor vehicle batteries
  • paper 
  • polypipe / irrigation pipe 
  • wooden and metal pickets 

Four (4) additional general waste entries. Items include:

  • bricks and building rubble (clean with no soil or sand) - Does not include coffee rock
  • car parts (no bodies) 
  • cement - hard only (no powder)  
  • dvd discs and video tapes 
  • general household items (includes sofas, bed bases and furniture)
  • gyprock
  • limestone 
  • mattresses 
  • plaster board 
  • polystyrene or styrofoam 
  • tyres (fees apply - maximum of 5)
  • timber
  • tree stumps (greater than 300mm)
  • whitegoods - includes air-conditioners, dishwashers, heaters, hot water systems, microwaves, ovens, hotplates, washers, refrigerators and freezers (these do not need to be degassed as this will be done On-Site)

The following items are NOT accepted at Walliston Transfer Station

  • asbestos
  • car bodies 
  • cement powder 
  • chemicals and acids
  • cockroach baits and bombs 
  • coffee rock 
  • EPIRBS 
  • explosives
  • fats or cooking oil - call Fataway on 9274 7668
  • fertiliser 
  • fire extinguishers
  • flares 
  • food waste 
  • flammable liquids and kerosene 
  • garden chemicals and poisons 
  • gas bottles 
  • hardiflex 
  • hazardous needles and sharps 
  • kitty litter
  • liquids
  • medical waste
  • nappies - used 
  • paints (solid or liquid) - including empty tins and lids - call Paintback on 1300 390 380
  • sand or soil 
  • smoke detectors 
  • super six panels 
  • X-Rays 

The only household hazardous waste (HHW) accepted at Walliston Transfer Station is: batteries, CFL light globes and motor oil).  R efer to the disposal of hazardous materials section for further information about safe disposal options.

 Fees

The Walliston Transfer Stations is for RESIDENTIAL WASTE ONLY. The disposal of commercial waste incurs a waste disposal charge.

Commercial fees apply for any of the following situations:

  • Commercial / Trade Waste
  • Your vehicle or trailer is commercially signed or badged (unless you have a Vehicle Permit)
  • Your waste is from a work site
  • You are transporting waste for a fee or reward

Vehicle Permits

This Vehicle Permit scheme applies to City of Kalamunda residents who use:

  • Vans
  • Trucks
  • Branded or sign-written vehicles and/or trailers

Residents using a Vehicle Permit are required to also bring their Entry Pass and show their valid Driver’s Licence.

The City of Kalamunda monitors site usage and reserves the right to make further enquiries of the owner of the vehicle and at the premises from which the waste originated. Waste needs to be carried safely and vehicles bringing waste to the site should at all times comply with the Road Traffic Act (1974).

NOTE: Maximum permitted trailer size 8ft x 6ft (2.4m x 1.8m). No Trucks or Commercial Loads or Horse Floats.

NOTE: Previously issued tip passes for both the Walliston Transfer Station and Red Hill Waste Management Facility are no longer valid.
