The City of Kalamunda is gearing up for the return of Tarmac West, bringing the excitement of road-based rally racing to the Perth Hills on Friday, 18 September 2026.

As part of the Day 2 program, spectators will witness thrilling rally action right on their doorstep, with timed stages taking place along Mundaring Weir Road and the iconic Zig Zag Scenic Drive.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with Haynes Street coming alive as the vibrant Kalamunda Street Festival takes centre stage during the Day 2 lunch stop.

Visitors can enjoy a vibrant mix of entertainment and activities, including circus performers, enchanting stilt walkers, dash simulators, the quirky Slack Taxi, and a display of beautifully restored vintage vehicles from the Veteran Car Club.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said Tarmac West had become a much-anticipated event on the City's calendar "Tarmac West is a fantastic opportunity to bring our community together and showcase everything that makes the Perth Hills such a special place."

"There’s something truly unique about seeing the thrill and precision of rally racing set against the backdrop of our beautiful natural environment. Whether you're a motorsport enthusiast or simply looking for a great day out with family and friends, the Kalamunda Street Festival and Tarmac West offer something for everyone."

To ensure the safety of all spectators and competitors, road closures will be in place on the day. To view road closure information and the Spectator Guide, including the best vantage points for the race, visit www.tarmacevents.com.au.
