Exploring elements of nature in abstract form, with clay and canvas as the mediums, Shabbi’s unique style has evolved following recent trips to northern UK and Broome, with the latter inspiring her to use different colours and take a bolder approach to her works.

Mayor Margaret Thomas said Shabbi’s exhibition was a wonderful addition to the City’s 2020 Perth Hills Spring Festival program and expects many locals and visitors to stop by and visit the display as they tour the region.

“The Perth Hills is well known and regarded for its amazing community of artists across the many mediums from painting to sculpture to pottery and everything in between,” Cr Thomas said.

“Our artists are supported wholeheartedly by the City, its residents and local businesses as well as those from further afield who travel to enjoy City-run events as well as private exhibitions and displays throughout the year.

The City of Kalamunda boasts many historical buildings and contemporary attractions making it an excellent spot for a picnic while taking in the beautiful bushland vistas.

Local cafes and restaurants ooze small town charm, and award-winning meals are available for both lunch and dinner from the area’s amazing wineries and cideries.

There’s never been a better time to enjoy the Perth Hills - take in the local history and enjoy the region’s many Spring Festival destinations or take some time to reflect at one of the area’s many quiet spaces and of course stop in to see “Elements Revisited” by Sharon Phelps.
