The City of Kalamunda has opened nominations for a new economic development advisory committee to provide guidance in the implementation of the City’s Economic Development Strategy.

The Kalamunda Economic Development Advisory Committee (KEDAC) will provide information and advice about the current and emerging trends in economic development to create a benchmark and targets moving forward.

Nominees must be currently operating in the City of Kalamunda. The Committee will comprise up to two small to medium enterprise operators, one Aboriginal business operator, up to three industry representatives and up to two members representing economic or business organisations. A representative from the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce will also join the Committee.

City of Kalamunda Mayor, Cr Margaret Thomas JP, said the new committee will assist the City to foster strong relationships with economic development stakeholders, including peak bodies and government agencies while giving advice that leverages community expectations in promoting the strengths and opportunities in economic development.

“Bedding down our strategy is critical and this committee will be a major asset in helping us reach the City’s economic development goals.”
