Friends of Ollie Worrell Reserve

Last updated: 15 May, 2019

About:

Ollie Worrell Reserve is a medium sizedView of the waters and reeds at Ollie Worrell Reserve
mixed use recreation reserve located on
the corner of Abernethy Road and Worrell
Avenue, High Wycombe. The majority of
the reserve is parkland, however there
are areas on the north and west of the
reserve which have high natural values
where a man-made compensation basin
has promoted growth of natural vegetation.
The Friends of Ollie Worrell Reserve have
spent many years removing rubbish, controlling
weeds and planting native vegetation around the reserve in partnership with the Shire of Kalamunda. The Water Corporation manages a ‘living stream’ drain which runs into the waterbody and have undertaken management of the drainage line over the years as required.

The Friends Group is keen to pursue a chemical free approach to weed management where possible in the future and hold an annual planting day in partnership with the City of Kalamunda and local community members.
