Under Council's Graffiti Removal and Prevention Policy, the City will endeavour to remove graffiti from Council property and private residential properties that abut Council land, such as fences and walls on parks, reserves and pedestrian access ways.
To lodge a request for graffiti removal, please complete the online graffiti removal request form or call 9257 9835.
The City of Kalamunda works closely with local Police to ensure a coordinated approach to identifying and prosecuting graffiti vandals. All incidents are photographed, recorded and provided to the Police as evidence. It is vital that the community report information regarding graffiti or graffiti offenders to the Police.
Report all graffiti to the State Graffiti Hotline on 1800 44 22 55 or go to goodbyegraffiti.wa.gov.au
Adopt a Bus Shelter Programme
Schools and local non-profit community groups across the City are encouraged to adopt a bus shelter. This is an opportunity for groups to identify themselves in the community by creating artwork on the shelters. In some cases Council may provide assistance to approved projects such as sealing your artwork with anti-graffiti sealant once completed. The bus shelters are not to be used for the purpose of direct advertising.
Participants in the programme are encouraged to maintain the adopted shelter and tidy up the artwork should it be defaced. In most cases the better the quality of the artwork the more likely it is left alone. Groups who have participated so far include Girl Guides, Cubs, CWA, New Generation Artists, St Bridgid’s Primary & College, Mary’s Mount Primary, Edney Road Primary and more. Please contact the Strategic Projects Team Leader on 9257 9933 for further information about the Adopt a Bus Shelter Programme.
