Walliston Transfer Station Changes


City of Kalamunda residents do not pay fees for the non-commercial use of the Walliston Transfer Station.  From the 1st of August 2018, to gain free access, please ensure you bring:

  • Entry Pass and your
  • Proof of residency (e.g. Driver’s licence)

Efficient and effective Waste Management and Recycling play a critical role in protecting the living and working environment of our community and has wider implications for the country and our planet. The City waste collection and recycling assists to protect the environment and the health of our community.

To help the City improve its waste and recycling services, we have introduced the new Entry Pass to Walliston Transfer Station.

  Entry Pass

Find your Walliston Transfer Station Entry Pass in your 2019/2020 Rates Notice. The Entry Pass will provide you with:

  • Unlimited entries to dispose of green waste.
    Items include: Green waste (prunings, lawn clippings and branches)
  • Unlimited entries to dispose of agreed recyclable materials.
    Items includes: clothing, cardboard, dry cell batteries, e-waste, fluorescent globes, glass, metal of any type (cut to a maximum of 1.5m length, width, height and not solid), motor oil (maximum of 20 litres), and motor vehicle batteries
  • Four (4) additional general waste entries
    Items includes: General household items, whitegoods (refrigerators, ovens,stoves, air cons), tyres (fees apply - maximum of 5), pale and pine timber, mattresses, bricks and building rubble (clean). 

The following items are NOT accepted at any time:
Asbestos / hardiflex, chemicals, fire extinguishers, gas bottles, liquids, paints, sand or dirt, putrescible waste, hazardous waste (exceptions of batteries, compact fluorescent lamps {CFL’s} and motor oil), medical waste and explosives.


Commercial fees apply for any of the following situations:

  • Commercial / trade waste
  • Your vehicle or trailer is commercially signed or badged (unless you have a permit)
  • Your waste is from a work site
  • You are transporting waste for a fee or reward

  Waste Vehicle Permits


This vehicle permit scheme applies to City of Kalamunda residents who use:

  • Vans
  • Truck
  • Branded or sign-written vehicles and/or trailers

Permit applications are limited to one per household with up to two vehicles registered. Residents using a vehicle permit are required to also bring their Entry Pass and show their valid Driver’s Licence with photo.

The City of Kalamunda monitors site usage and reserves the right to make further enquiries of the owner of the vehicle and at the premises from which the waste originated. Waste needs to be carried safely and vehicles bringing waste to the site should at all times comply with the Road Traffic Act (1974).
