About Catchment Groups

The Eastern Hills is in a unique position with regard to landcare activities both on public and private land due to its enormous volunteer base. These groups perform on ground restoration and protection works all over the sub region. Although most Friends Groups work predominantly on Shire owned reserves, many catchment groups also focus on private property conservation works. These catchment groups provide local land owners with advice and support to restore and protect biodiversity and also how to gain external funding. The catchment groups have successfully linked private land holders together in projects that also link to Shire or DEC reserves.

The active catchment groups in the Shire of Kalamunda can be found on the left hand menu.
