There are currently 47 sporting clubs in the Shire of Kalamunda that utilise Shire reserves or facilities.  These clubs provide an important source of physical activity for local residents of all ages and contribute to the social wellbeing of the community.

The Shire of Kalamunda has shown strong support for sport and recreation over a long period of time with the development of a range of facilities and initiatives.  267 hectares of sporting reserve are maintained by the Shire providing opportunities for sport and recreation to the community.

 

Shire of Kalamunda sporting clubs complete in a range of different sports and at levels varying from local club events to state and national level.  The Shire is supportive of all clubs and provides a range of information and services in order to ensure that clubs continue to thrive.

 

In order to improve communication between sporting clubs and Shire staff a Sporting Club Information Guide has been developed and will shortly be distributed to all sporting clubs.  A Sporting User Forum will also be developed early in 2007 that will allow all clubs in the Shire to come together and discuss the issues affecting local sporting clubs and gain information on a  range of topics including club management and funding.

 

Information

This Sporting Club Information Guide is available to Shire of Kalamunda sporting clubs to provide relevant and important information. It will enable quick and easy access as well as form a foundation of continuing communications between the Shire of Kalamunda and sporting clubs. The Sporting Club Information Guide provides information regarding; general inquiries, grounds usage, pavilions, funding opportunities, club development methods, planning for the future, relevant Shire policies, sporting fact sheets and Shire of Kalamunda forms.  


The Shire of Kalamunda is providing this service to assist in the management and administration of sporting clubs and to promote growth and development of sporting opportunities to the community. 


This information guide is regarded as a living document and will be updated regularly. This is to be achieved through regular sporting forums which all sporting clubs will be invited to attend. If you believe there is information that should be provided or added to the guide please notify the Community Services Officer (Recreation). The guide’s purpose is to be a reference source for sporting clubs. Thus it is the clubs responsibility to ensure that all members are aware of the information and has ready access to it and that the Sporting Club Information Guide is passed on to all new committee members.
