Activities and events for children
Mary Durack Award for Young Writers:
Any child in school years one to twelve who lives or attends school in the Shires of Mundaring and Kalamunda or Cities of Armadale and Swan is invited to submit creative writing pieces for this annual award. There are 5 categories for judging with prizes being awarded to first second and third place in each category. The award is launched in March with entries closing in May.

Children’s Book Week:
A week of events held in August each year to celebrate children’s books. Events include guest speakers and storytime sessions.
School Holiday Activities:
Events are held at each of the libraries during the school holidays. Programmes are displayed two weeks prior to the holidays.
