Some of Australia’s fastest drone pilots will battle it out at the Rotorcross State Qualifiers in Pickering Brook next month. The winner will have the chance to compete in the 2018 National Drone Racing Championships in Perth this November.
Established in 2014, Rotorcross is a competitive drone racing club supported by the City of Kalamunda. The club is based in Pickering Brook with 60 members, including pilots that have competed around the globe and rank among the top 10 fastest drone pilots in Australia.
Mayor John Giardina said, “The State Qualifiers will be an exciting spectacle and chance for everyone to check out this up and coming sport. Based here in the Perth Hills, the Rotorcross home ground is a safe and welcoming space for all to enjoy. It is Australia's first and only dedicated home ground drone racing club.”
